Big Love by Charles Mee
Directed by Megan Sandberg-Zakian, designed by Matt Mott Cophaken Stage (University of Missouri, Kansas City)
The floor for this show was done in a single weekend. The process began with a cream base coat, followed by spattering two browns over everything and adding denatured alcohol. After this dried, the tiles were chalklined, and then a 2'x2' stencil was used to spray colors and add denatured for the different marbleized tiles. (The tiles in the center diamond were measured and painted using tape instead.) A light spatter and grout lines completed the floor before sealing it against blood spatter
The tub was painted using a metallic latex paint, with two shades sponged on top to create a texture. The detail was again projected and painted.
