Directed by Sidonie Garrett, designed by Gene Emerson Friedman,  Heart of America Shakespeare Festival (2016)
This production of Twelfth Night, set in an Italian seaside resort during the 1920s, leant itself to both magic and romance, echoing architectural forms and marbling that have reigned from Shakespeare's time until ours, while using a color scheme both playful and eclectic.

Besides the tremendous amount of marbling, many parts of the set were built from translucent plastic, requiring an air brush touch to allow the light to play through them and brighten them to a glow.  I supervised a crew of two other painters during this summer session, along with interpreting colors and creating samples based on the designer's paint elevations.
