Walls
The wall frames and door were painted using a series of washes on raw lumber, creating a wood grain that was then enhanced with a thicker paint for a dark graining.
Theatre Gauze
Theatre gause used between the wall bracings was toned using a pnuematic sprayer
Stone path (front), hills (behind)
The hills were made of several platform levels with the faux turf laid on top. The fronts, legs and silhouette of the hills was then painted to blend with the wood tones in the house.

Burnt by the Sun tells the story of the unwinding of a bourgeois family who have survived in seclusion into the Soviet Era. The designer's quaint and quirky portrayal of their home provides stark contrast to the strictly ordered and violent world in which they live.
